Lighting

A cover for the tank is desirable as it reduces evaporation and though they are not prone to jumping, on occasion some gold fish will jump out. Lighting is not essential for goldfish, but does make the aquarium a nice show piece and lighting will help if you have live plants.Lighting arrangement should be high for this fish.
Gold Fish can not close your eyes, so they require artificial lighting to help them differentiate night from day. This will help prevent stress. For the same reason should not be left on during the night lighting. It is important to keep the lights burning for less than 8 hours a day, otherwise encourage algae growth, which requires light to grow very fast pace.

Incandescent Lamps
They are cheaper, but produce much heat, which can raise water temperature. Not recommended for live plants, and do not provide the light needed to begin the process known as photosynthesis. They are usually an aquarium of 40 liters or less.
Fluorescent Lamps
They produce more light and less amount of heat. They are available in many sizes, which facilitates installation in the aquarium. If you have live
plants in the aquarium, you should increase the light and look for a fluorescent lamp that provides a full spectrum. It’s the closest to providing the direct sunlight. The cost of these lamps may be higher, the price is offset by its low power consumption.
A strong light, which is very effective in promoting the growth of plants, obtained by increasing the number of watts. For a highly populated aquarium plants, recommends 60 watts per 30 CMS. length of the aquarium.
Note:
You must use or tungsten halogen lamps and for heating up the aquarium, plus they do not provide enough light for plants to grow. Furthermore, the condensation forms easily, which eventually will cause problems.
